Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 1. Experience as a caregiver in a home care setting, Assisted Living/Memory care, Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation facility or hospital. 2. Must meet hiring criteria as defined in the agency’s minimum standards, to include eligibility to pass 50 state national background check, Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, First Aid/CPR certification, and TB Surveillance Screening. 3. Must practice good hygiene and maintain a positive appearance. 4. Must be able to function with minimal supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with the client. 5. Must accept responsibility for maintaining skills and learning on an ongoing basis, as well as adhering to agency policies. 6. Does not administer medication or perform any procedures requiring the knowledge or skills of a licensed nurse or medical provider. Performs medication reminders as per Plan of Care instructions. 7. Must have excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.

Companion Caregivers are just that, companions. When they first arrive, they might do a safety check, help prepare meals, or pick out clothes for the day. You are a friend that plays games, runs errands, cleans up, and genuinely tries to make someone smile. Our Caregivers are going the next step and helping our seniors bathe, get dressed, and brush their teeth. They help them stay safe with medication reminders and general mobility around the house. Some of our companion caregivers have certifications like CNA, HHA, or PCA, but they are optional.   People who make great caregivers If you have experience caring for a family member or have been a full-time parent or homemaker, you can be a great caregiver if you worked in an Assisted Living Facility, Skilled Nursing, Senior Home, or Senior Center as a caretaker. If you have been a teacher or childcare worker, working in a school or preschool setting, or are retired and want to give back, Apply Now.
